"These are no-brainers to me. You really can't go wrong with these."

Shop The Selects

Who were you thinking about with your selection?

I honestly started by thinking about what I like and would be happy to receive. Gifts are always kind of tricky, because although it's about the thought, I always want my gifts to be purposeful and loved versus just sitting in a drawer somewhere forgotten. I think anyone would be happy to receive something from my edit, if not all ;-), and actually wear the items— even if it's not something they would have typically picked up for themselves.

What do the holidays and giving mean to you?

I think the holidays should be first and foremost about prioritizing your time to do the things that bring you peace and joy— the things that normally get shafted to the end of your to-do list because you know, life. Whether that’s spending more time with loved ones or doing community service or just turning off your phone for a full weekend. I think by giving yourself the time you need, you end up being able to give others more.

Tell us about the charity/non-profit you chose for donation. How did you get interested?

ACLU. The American Civil Liberties Union is an incredible organization that not only actively fights against civil violations in the court (ACLU lawyers have been at the center of history-making court cases) but they are a great resource of information for anyone looking to get more involved in their community. Their work spans across immigration, LGBTQ rights, criminal justice, racial justice, womens rights, voting rights— the list goes on.
